1 HOUR BUSINESS STRATEGY

For a "legal DOT lettering" on a hotshot truck, the USDOT number must be displayed clearly on both sides of the vehicle with lettering at least 2 inches high, ensuring it's easily visible from 50 feet away, and using a contrasting color against the truck's background to be readily legible during daylight hours; this is a requirement under FMCSA regulations for all commercial vehicles transporting goods across state lines, including hotshot trucks.
Key points about legal DOT lettering for hotshots:
-
Minimum size: 2 inches tall
-
Placement: Both sides of the vehicle, typically on the cab doors
-
Visibility: Must be readable from 50 feet away
-
Color contrast: Letters should be a contrasting color compared to the truck's surface
