CDL ELDT Passenger Endorsement

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) ELDT new regulations require those individuals seeking a passenger (P) endorsement to complete entry-level driver training education.

After completing the Passenger Bus ELDT course you’ll also need to complete the Passenger Bus ELDT road and range behind-the-wheel (BTW) training.

 If you do not have a CDL a minimum of a Class B CDL and the passenger endorsement

computer tests must be completed  at the TXDPS. You will also have to complete the

Class B ELDT theory & Passenger Bus Theory. Once those are completed then the Class

B & Passenger Bus ELDT behind-the-wheel (BTW) road and range training must

completed. These are all required before you can test at the Texas Department of Public

Safety driver license office to complete your CDL license with a passenger endorsement

to be legal to drive a passenger bus.

Upon completion of this course, the FMCSA your certification will be uploaded to the

Federal Register and you may go to any TXDPS to have the endorsements added to

your license.

Passenger Endorsement Theory is a  ELDT training program provided at our training facility. It is a mandatory requirement for acquiring a Passenger Endorsement, fully approved by the FMCSA, and offers immediate reporting to the FMCSA upon successful completion.

If you are planning to operate passenger-carrying commercial vehicles, including bus drivers, shuttle drivers, and school bus drivers, in Texas then you are required to obtain a Passenger Endorsement.

To obtain the Passenger Endorsement, you'll typically need to pass a written knowledge test and then a skills test at the TXDPS where an examiner assesses your ability to safely operate passenger-carrying vehicles.

Individuals with an existing CDL can still enroll in a Passenger Endorsement course to add this endorsement to their commercial driver's license.
