A self-directed alternative to a traditional CDL school
Get Your CDL Quick offers vehicle rental and limited vehicle familiarization for customers who arrive with previously acquired knowledge and skills from experience or independent self-study. This service model is intended as an alternative to a traditional CDL school program. The paid rental and familiarization services do not provide a comprehensive beginner curriculum or classroom instruction. Customers prepare and progress according to their existing ability.
Required FMCSA ELDT behind-the-wheel training is a separate, proficiency-based activity. Describing the business as an alternative to a school does not establish its regulatory status.
School bus at our location

Start with your license and endorsement status
Share your current license class, commercial learner permit and any passenger or school bus endorsement you hold. Someone adding an endorsement may be at a different stage from someone applying for a first CDL.
Use the School Bus knowledge-practice page and Passenger study resources to identify relevant preparation. Confirm your application and testing requirements through the Texas DPS CDL instructions.
Confirm the school bus equipment before booking
Ask which bus is available, its transmission and brake configuration, and its suitability for your intended test. Share any existing restrictions or particular vehicle requirements at the start.
The school bus photographs help identify this service path. Your reservation still requires confirmation of the actual equipment, date and appointment details. Do not make travel plans based only on a photograph or an inquiry submission.
Become familiar with the vehicle you will use
School buses have vehicle-specific controls, mirrors, inspection points and operating characteristics. Limited familiarization allows eligible customers to apply their existing inspection and driving skills to the rented equipment.
Discuss pre-trip, backing or road familiarization separately and review the current time limits, prices and terms. These paid services do not replace a complete beginner program, applicable ELDT or additional school-district employment requirements.
Discuss separate ELDT before the skills test
If ELDT applies to your application, identify the relevant theory, range and road activity before you plan your skills test. Passenger and school bus requirements should be reviewed for your individual situation.
Our ELDT range and road page explains the service distinction and what to discuss. Completion depends on the applicable training and documented proficiency; payment for a bus rental alone is not completion.
Bring these details to your inquiry
- Your current license class, permit and endorsement status.
- The school bus type and driving role you are preparing for.
- Your relevant commercial vehicle or bus experience.
- The Texas DPS test office and appointment information.
- Any known equipment or restriction requirements.
- Your applicable ELDT records and the services you still need.
Plan the complete arrangement
Review the published school bus rental price, separate fuel and any individually selected familiarization. Confirm availability, meeting details, included time and appointment-change terms before payment or travel.
Call (469) 332-7188 to discuss your school bus goal. If you are beginning the licensing process, the complete CDL step-by-step guide can help you keep track of the separate stages.
Questions before you book
Does passing the CDL test complete every school bus employment requirement?
Licensing and an employer’s school bus requirements are separate. Check with the licensing agency and school district or employer for any additional certification, screening or preparation required for the position.

CLP practice account and topic access
Choose any purchased topic in any order. Retest as often as you like during its 30-day access window. Every new attempt selects questions randomly and shuffles the answer choices.
Aim for at least 95% on five consecutive attempts for this topic. A lower score resets the streak. This is our practice readiness goal; it does not guarantee the official Texas DPS test result.
Online registration and payment are being connected. You can save and review your selections; call (469) 332-7188 for help completing registration and payment.
Official sources for independent review
Our inspection and licensing reference information draws on the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers Handbook, DL-7C, revised March 2026; the Commercial Driver’s License Manual Supplement for Modernized Version, DL-7CM, version September 9, 2022; and published FMCSA guidance and federal regulations. DL-7C and DL-7CM are publication identifiers, not statute numbers.
We compile and organize references to make independent review easier. The official agencies establish the licensing and inspection standards. Company-produced videos, narration, checklists and review aids explain these topics; they are not publications issued by Texas DPS or FMCSA. The official sources can be read directly at no charge. Use current Texas DPS instructions when an older supplement differs from the current testing system.
Manual editions, publisher rights and legal references
The modernized supplement is an AAMVA publication hosted by Texas DPS. Public availability does not make every publication public domain. Publisher copyrights and use restrictions still apply. Texas DPS identifies its handbook for personal use and restricts commercial sales or reproduction. These source notices do not grant reproduction rights or imply agency endorsement.

Identifying public sources does not itself establish a regulatory approval or exemption. Texas DPS determines licensing and test results. Separate applicable ELDT obligations remain in effect.
