Assistance for skills you already have
Our separately offered vehicle rental and familiarization services do not provide a classroom program or comprehensive beginner driver instruction. Staff assist with becoming familiar with the vehicle and applying previously acquired knowledge to pre-trip, backing and road activities. These services are an alternative to a traditional CDL school program; they do not replace required ELDT.
The September 9 superseding exemption request describes pre-trip familiarization of up to 9 hours, backing familiarization of up to 90 minutes and a separately offered 30-minute road session. Advance disclosures, individual service selection and the published refund terms apply.
Separate ELDT behind-the-wheel instruction
Applicable FMCSA ELDT behind-the-wheel range and road instruction is a separate, proficiency-based activity delivered by qualified instructors. Completion depends on demonstrated proficiency in the required curriculum; a familiarization session alone is not an ELDT completion certification.
